Rust was designed as a simulation of a real world and it has very detailed graphics. To play it smoothly at a good FPS, consider your setup, especially after the last patches.
Min requirements system Rust gaming.
- OS: Windows 10, 64-bit.
- Intel i7-3770 or AMD FX-9590 CPU.
- RAM: 10 GB. A NVIDIA GTX 1050 or AMD 500 Series (DirectX 11).
- It is recommended to use an SSD to reduce loading time.
- Network: Stable broadband internet.
Rust Recommended Requirements:
- OS: Windows 11, 64-bit.
- Intel i7-4790K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU with 16 GB RAM.
- NVIDIA RTX 3060 or AMD RX 570 Series (DirectX 12) for GPU.
- You’ll need an SSD with 35 GB of storage space.
- Network: Stable broadband internet.
As per the developers of the game, it is also possible that your FPS is dropping due to excessive particle, tree, texture, object, and decoration quality.
You can lower the quality of all these settings via Quality or via a console.
The Rust game is built on a modified Unity engine which is upgraded for modern PCs but requires more resources at higher settings.
Although there are high tech requirements, this game offers stable FPS and scalable settings for PCs with lower specs.
Important Tips:
- Because of the relatively small size of 20 GB, Rust makes use of a lot of resources. A SSD makes things load faster and play smoother.
- If your computer has 8 GB of RAM, the performance can be disappointing. It is recommended to have 16 GB for great performance particularly for multitasking systems.
To wrap it up, Rust is still one of the top survival games, and its system requirements are still high. Rust will run decently as long as your PC meets at least the minimum requirements. However, to get decent FPS, you need a powerful GPU and SSD.
