If you play Standoff 2, then for sure noticed how important every detail on map: corner, building, cover, sniper position… All this decides, when talk go about win or lose, especially when match ranked. In this article we will dive in few most popular maps in game, their features and tactical tricks, which can help you change course of game.

Classic of Standoff, which all hate and love at same time. Sandy streets, open spaces and sniper duels. After update map save balance between attack and defense, but developers add new covers and rework geometry of bomb plant spots.

— Trick: control of central zone and tunnel. Here often decides results of rounds.
— Mistake: ignore high spots. Snipers like to take positions on heights.

In community of Standoff even appeared term "Child of sands". So called those who play only on map Sandstone. Can compare them with "Children of Mirage (or Dust)", like in CS:2 Mirage or Dust 2 – most popular.

Despite compactness, map modernized: added hole in roof of hangar and reworked sniper positions. Now here more comfortable to shootout, but less covers.

— Rule: don’t stay on one place.

Sandy dunes and destroyed walls. Favorite of those who play on distance. Is reduced version of Sandstone.

— Advice: take something with optic. Long distance shootouts here decide everything.

Blooming cherry, Asian pagodas and… deadly traps. Most beautiful but tricky map Sakura.

— Trick: alleys, forks and turns – use them for sneaky movement.
— Mistake of newbie: forget look around. From heights often attack!

Tropical island with beach and caves. Looks calm, but here boiling cruel fights. Map Breeze fascinates with its beauty, but need be careful.

— Secret: forks and alleys – best way for flank. Take SMG and rush unexpectedly!

Developers know: boredom kill game. New versions of old maps (remember updated "Epicenter") not just change textures – they add covers, rebuild routes.
