I have been seeing a lot of chatter lately about D2R bots getting hammered by ban waves. If you are still using those old-school memory-writing bots, you are just asking for a ban. It is pretty clear why stuff like KoL or Gid are getting flagged—they are way too intrusive for the current detection methods.
Everyone keeps asking about a DMA-based solution for D2R, and honestly, it makes sense. If you move the logic to a 2nd PC and just pull the memory via a DMA card, you bypass most of the standard detection vectors that catch the internal stuff. No injection means no direct detection of the process memory manipulation.
Has anyone actually managed to get a DMA-based maphack or bot running on current D2R builds? I know a few devs have been messing around with it, but most of the public stuff is just junk. If you are going this route, make sure you have your KMBox ready so you can actually handle the inputs without the server sniffing out your software-level mouse movement.
Stay safe and use alts, boys. Don't be a hero on your main account with experimental hardware setups.
